Growing up my Grandma was always behind a camera - trying to capture every moment for us. She needed it and we placated her most of the time. Now that she is gone, I know just how valuable those moments she captured are, and I want to save those memories for everyone around me too!
An Intimate Summer Wedding | Billings, MT |Brianna Joy Photography
I have such a fondness for wedding days, especially here in Montana, there are so many beautiful places to photograph! Getting to capture the sweet emotions of one of the best days of a couples’ life is one of the things I love about wedding photography the most!
Sammie and Carson’s wedding was absolutely no exception! Getting to capture their details, their personality, and their special vows to promise the rest of their lives together, was just so remarkable. I have so many amazing moments that I want to share from their day.
Like first, their sweet first look, that we got in before the rain came! When I got there, Sammie was all ready with her details and I got to work – hello beautiful shoes, dress, flowers, and rings. Carson’s details didn’t disappoint either! Can we please talked about the fact that he hand tied his own bowtie!?! Now there’s a keeper for sure!
After details, we got Sammie in her dress and prepared her and Carson both for the first look. Carson’s reaction to seeing Sammie was seriously just the sweetest. They both were all smiles and hugs! The first look is one of my favorite parts of the day, every single time. You can palpably feel the stress and the nerves just melt away because they now get to spend the day with their best friend and share all the moments together!
We finished some portraits and got a weather alert that it was going to start storming, so we headed inside and had the bride take shelter. The rest of us went back outside to put all the decorations back in the shed so they wouldn’t get broken or ruined. In record time, we took down the mason jar light path, the reception table, lights, and flowers.
As we walked back inside, the rain started pouring! We got everything put away just in the nick of time. It poured for about 45 minutes and we used that time to just chat and discuss what the rest of the day was going to look like if the rain didn’t let up. Thankfully, it did, so we ran back outside, took some photos in front of their home, to capture the special milestone of them owning their own house, and then we ran back to re-set up all the decorations and tables.
When the ceremony started, the sun came right back out AND I discovered that Sammie’s sister got ordained, just so she could perform the ceremony for her sister and brother in law. How special is that?! And she did such a great job!
Sammie and Carson, your day was just beautiful and I am so honored that I got to be a part of it! I am so glad that I know you and I can’t wait to watch as you grow together in your marriage.
Join me in congratulating these two on their marriage and just enjoy how adorable they are together!!
You guys, these two bought their own house and got to get married in their own backyard! Of COURSE I had to capture this one in front of their beautiful home!
